Respecting & Promoting Diversity
Having a diverse work-force is good for the corporate environment. It creates a conducive atmosphere for setting up merit as the only factor for growth. Supported by the organizational policy, it fosters tolerance and allows new vistas of thinking.
In today’s globalized world, most of the bigger geographies offer a cosmopolitan environment which is reflected in the diversity of the work-force as well. The organization needs to embrace this diversity and promote it. This stems from the recognition of the value of the enhanced competitiveness of a work-force having employees from a milieu of cultural, social and educational backgrounds. Simply the fact that the employees come from diverse backgrounds can spawn new possibilities in performance excellence and open new dimensions in execution. Needless to say, having a diverse work-force also prevents polarization in the employee community. Once again, the HR department plays a pivotal role in execution of this strategy.
