Whistle Blowing

Whistle blowing is a process or an institution which encourages employees to report any untoward incident which may be a breach of company’s norms and policies. It is a separate channel designed and set up especially for confidential reporting.

Whistle Blowing refers to a channel or platform where any employee can confidentially report a serious misconduct or a violation of company rules and policies. As a policy, the organization must openly encourage whistle-blowing and disseminate information about the detailed procedure to do so. An important aspect of this process is total confidentiality and protection of the reporting employee. It is the responsibility of the executive management committee to assure all employees of the same since it is only when this critical aspect is assured, will the employees’ trust in the company’s commitment towards integrity and internal discipline develop. Whistle blowing needs to be an integral part of the overall management planning.
