Tel Screeing Review
A telephone screening review is the first personal interface between the recruiter and the candidate. This is an important second level filter since it is here that the first impressions are made and a conclusive idea about the communication skills of the candidate is developed.
A telephone screening review may be the next step after the initial resume review. Once the first level shortlist has been arrived at after the resume review process, the recruiter speaks to the candidate over telephone using the contact details which the candidate has provided in his/her resume. The questions that the recruiter asks the candidate may vary, but they generally include asking the candidate to describe his/her overall experience profile and educational qualifications in brief. Although the recruiter may already know this from the resume, but it serves none-the-less as a recheck of the details from the candidate him/herself. It also serves as an ice-breaker and a premise which leads to other specific questions which the recruiter might have for the candidate. The recruiter also assesses the communication skills and gets a top-view on the overall personality of the candidate. It covers enough ground for the recruiter to decide whether or not to call the candidate for the next level. The recruiter could be from HR or the main department as well.
