The rating scale on which the rankings are awarded in the Performance Management System ranges from 1 to 5. 5 stands for ‘Clearly Exceeds Expectations’ while 1 stands for Does Not Meet Expectations’.

The Ranking Scale is a scale ranging from 1 to 5. The appraisee, appraiser and the reviewer award individual ratings to the appraisee’s performance from this scale. The various ratings denote: 5 – Clearly Exceeds Expectations: Consistently exceeded the expectations beyond a point which deserves special mention. 4 – Exceeds Some Expectations: Exceeded most of the set expectations by a reasonable margin. 3 – Meets All Expectations: Met all the set expectations as per target. 2 – Meets Some Expectations: Met most of the set expectations. 1 – Does Not Meet Expectations: Failed to meet most of the expectations. Clearly, these ratings reflect upon the execution excellence achieved in the time-period being assessed.
